CTW is short for the CTW Library Consortium, consisting of Connecticut College in New London, CT; Trinity College in Hartford, CT; and Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT.
The consortium was established in 1987 so the three libraries could share an online library catalog. We also began sharing our collections via a daily delivery service between the three libraries. This service has worked well over the years and is often faster than requesting books through interlibrary loan.
CTW has since expanded its collaborative efforts into collaborative collection development and collection management, and shared ebook purchasing.
For CTW patrons, borrowing privileges are extended to the user communities of the three institutions. They may borrow items from the other institutions either in person with a valid institution ID, or use the online catalog to place requests.
